PASCO, Wash. - A new preschool and daycare is taking a different approach to educating children.
JigsawKids Preschool is in the construction phase on Burden Avenue in Pasco near Road 68.
The school will require teachers to have college degrees to work there.
The owner believes children learn best in those first few years of life and their education needs to be taken more seriously.
"90% of the synapses in the brain are created before a child is 5-years-old. That's really when we should be focusing on teaching. We need educated teachers to be able to do that," said JigsawKids Owner Scott Thomason.
JigsawKids will have 9 classrooms with room for 230 children. Open enrollment starts in two weeks. The school is scheduled to open the first week of January.
