YAKIMA--Rainy conditions led to several car accidents Saturday.
In one on East Walnut Avenue, a car hit a power pole and sheared it off at the base.
Police say the driver was heading north out of alley around 12:40 Saturday afternoon. The driver was going too fast, lost control and smashed in to the pole.
The impact moved the pole several feet from the base.
Police want you to be careful on the roads during inclement weather.
"We ask that they adjust their speed and slow down a little bit," Sgt. Tim Bardwell, Yakima Police Department, said. "Give some room to the car in front of you and just pay extra special attention to the road and the conditions."
Pacific Power will completely replace the pole. The work is expected to take 4-6 hours and should be finished by Sunday.
No word on whether nearby homes will lose electricity during the switch.
Bardwell said there were at least four other accidents in Yakima caused by the weather.
