President Barack Obama delivers health care speech to Congress

Posted: Updated:

Today (Wednesday) at 5pm, Pacific time, President Barack Obama will deliver a health care speech to Congress. His speech will preempt your local 5pm news. We will also be streaming the event live, right on our web site, www.kndu.com or www.kndo.com.

Our regular 6pm newscast is set to follow the President's speech. Here are some stories we are working on for tonight's broadcast:

  • A group of Oregon doctors is trekking across the country to Washington D.C. to promote single-payer health care coverage.
  • The issue of the "everything but marriage law" is set to go to voters on the November ballot. The bill expands rights for domestic partnership.
  • A 98-year old Kennewick man who has finished eight of the last Bloomsday races has passed away. His name was Victor Rogers

  • As the President speaks to the American people tonight about the health care reform plan, we are going to find out...what about the uninsured?
  • School is in session for students in the valley and preventing the H1N1 virus, or swine flu, is a topic that's on many minds.
  • As KNDO prepares for our 50th anniversary, we will take a look at the history of the Capitol Theatre.
