Honoring Grandparents day at Hawthorne Court Retirement Center
National Grandparents day is a time to honor our nation's grandparents. It was created three decades ago by a West Virginia woman. The goal of Sept. 13th is to inspire the younger generation to learn life lessons from the older generation.
Today grandparents at Hawthorne Court Retirement center celebrated by sharing stories, eating ice cream and watching football. One woman, Mary Rose Bishop, has a lot of stories to share. She is a grandmother of ten.
Mary Rose describes being a grandmother as "thrilling." She also says she "couldn't hardly wait...I've been real thrilled with all of them."
