PENDLETON, Ore. -- Pendleton Police Officers are looking for a man they call "a person of interest" in a murder that happened Sunday night. Police are looking for 19-year old Waylon James Speedis.

Speedis is wanted for questioning regarding the death of a 23-year old American Indian man. The victim, who remains unidentified, was found dead Sunday night, around 7:30pm on the 1700 block of the SW River Levee. Police say he had a stab would to his chest.

They think Speedis knew the victim. Police are also saying this was an isolated incident, so people shouldn't be afraid that he's on the loose.

Police questioned six people of interest and ended up arresting 17-year old Cody Speedis and 18-year old Tyler Neff. Both were booked in the Umatilla County Jail on separate charges of first degree assault.

If you have any information concerning Waylon Speedis' whereabouts, you're asked to call the Pendleton Police Department at (541) 276-4411.
