A way to get around the Blue Bridge detours and still make it to work on time
The Blue Bidge from Pasco to Kennewick will be closed until Sunday but construction workers say the improvement is well worth the wait.
"By building the two new south bound lanes on 395 it's really going to start improving safety and also the traffic movement," Moe Davari from the Department of Transportation said.
But for those who live in Pasco and drive to work in Kennewick that short wait may seem like a lifetime.
So davari mapped out an easy way to cross the river.
He says when coming from Pasco, drive one exit past 395. Take 12B and turn right on 20th avenue. Once 20th ends make a left turn on A street. Your last turn will be on 10th avenue where you'll cross the Cable Bridge which will take you into Kennewick.
During the trip you may get caught in a stream of red lights, but Davari says the trip will only add about eight minutes to the alternate rout and it's a small price to pay for a huge improvement, he says.
