Autopsy reveals Christopher Villarreal was shot twice
We found out from the Benton County Coroner today that Villarreal was shot twice and was killed by a bullet to his chest.
The first stage of the autopsy was performed at 9:40 this morning when a forensic pathologist removed two bullets from Villarreal's body.
The question still floating around is what exactly will happen to officer Lee Cooper, the man who police say shot Villarreal because his own life was threatened?
Chief of Kennewick Police, Ken Hohenberg, says an outside agency is investigating the situation to see if the shots fired by officer cooper were justified. He also says during his six years as chief he's dealt with several officer involved shootings. Two of were fatal.
"Unfortunately it goes with violent behavior that occurs and that's part of what we do," Hohenberg said.
Further autopsy results will be released in eight to twelve weeks to see if Villarreal had drugs or alcohol in his system.
