KENNEWICK, Wa. -- Officers arrested a man near the Cable Bridge in Kennewick. Javier Chaves was wanted by Richland police for an assault involving a firearm.
Pasco officers spotted him in the back of a vehicle this morning, followed the car to Kennewick where police arrested him along with two other women, and officers say with yesterday's shooting in Kennewick fresh on everyone's mind, the arrest this morning is the way they hope all of them end up.
"He can say what he wants," Kennewick officer Randy Maynard said. "He can voice opposition to what we're asking him to do, but as long as he's complying with what we're ordering him to do there's no problem and as you can see he's in custody, nobody's hurt.. There was no force applied here. We're good."
