PULLMAN, Wash. -- 0-and-2 to start the season, Paul Wulff is already mixing things up at Washington State before Saturday's game against SMU.
Kevin Lopina is out as starting quarterback. He will be replaced by Marshall Lobbestael. That announcement was made Tuesday morning by Wulff, who is looking for answers after falling behind 35-0 to Hawaii on Saturday.
"We still need to get better in our passing game," said Wulff. "I think that's pretty evident. We have to continue to grow in that area. We had enough mistakes to probably lose by 40 or 50 to be honest but our kids kept fighting and playing hard and that's what you ask for. They did that. Even though we made mistakes that cost us the game and they made plays, it was just one of those days where it just wasn't on our side."
