UPDATE: Fifth fire in Yakima is suspicious and connected to others
YAKIMA, Wash. - Firefighters responded to a fifth fire in the same area of the city Thursday morning, calling this and the other four fires since Sunday suspicious and likely connected.
The latest fire started before 4:00 a.m. and was in the same location as one of the previous fires, the 1400 block of W. Lincoln Ave. The fire department had to close a few blocks of the street with the help of Yakima Police.
The house was vacant at the time of the fire but a neighbor was injured. He was bit by a dog in his right leg while trying to wake up nearby residents. Paramedics treated him on the scene and he was released.
Four fire engines along with two other vehicles were on the scene, 16 firefighters were called out to respond.
Damages to the house are estimated at $60,000, the cause is under investigation.
