KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Washington is named the second best state in the nation for business, according to Forbes.com.
Washington was ranked number 3 last year, but jumped to the second spot this year. Forbes editors compared six different categories, including costs, labor supply, regulatory environment, current economic climate, growth prospects and quality of life. Washington ranked number one in the growth prospects category.
Forbes says the number one state for business is Virginia, Rhode Island came in last.
