RICHLAND, Wash. - The newly remodeled Richland Public Library is seeing an increased number of patrons. The two story building is 58,000 square feet and offers items ranging from DVD's to video games and of course books.
Since the opening, the new library has been very successful. In fact, statistics show an 11% increase in new users and in items checked out compared to June 2007.
The circulation supervisor, Jeanette Mercier, says the computers are one of the more popular items that brings people to the library. Jeanette also says the library has also seen an increase in kid memberships. She says it is a great place for children to be if they are not at home or work.
