The Arc of Tri-Cities will soon have a new home. A groundbreaking ceremony took place today at the Spaulding Business Park in Richland where the new 14,000 square foot facility will be built.
The Arc of Tri-Cities provides multiple services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families; and the new facility is already generating a lot of excitement.
"The new facility for will mean that, it'll be a place that I can come and interact with other people," says Teresa Payne, a user of the Arc's services.
The non-profit organization has outgrown its current facility which serves more than 1,400 clients. The new Arc will be able to meet the needs of these clients as well has help developmentally disabled individuals further their education, build friendships and contribute to the community.
