WEST OF NACHES--The Washington Department of Transportation reports that State Route 410 from milepost 104 to milepost 108, about ten miles west of Naches, is closed due to a landslide.
A DOT release sent to KNDO says that at approximately 6 a.m. on Oct. 11, rocks and dirt slid down the hillside and covered the westbound lanes moving pavement from the highway.
The landslide is about 20 feet deep and affects a quarter mile of the highway. WSDOT crews are currently on scene to assess the damage. Local residents are being evacuated.
A local road detour around the closure is provided to drivers. WSDOT advises drivers to be cautious when using local roads.
KNDO has a reporter headed to the scene. Check www.kndo.com or www.twitter.com/kndotv for the latest.
