Richland, Wash. - 29 people in the state of Washington received lifesaving and humanitarian awards at the Governor's Industrial Safety and Health Coference in Tacoma. One local resident, Todd Gaston, received his award for using his first-aid training to save someone's life. Gaston works for the Benton County PUD and received his award for saving the life of a five year old boy at The Columbia Basin Racquet Club in Richland.
Last June, Gaston performed CPR on a boy who nearly drowned at the pool. Gaston says luckily he was trained in CPR and that it was an honor to receive the lifesaving award.
