YAKIMA--The East Valley High School teacher accused of having sex with one of her students makes her first appearance in court.
Michele Taylor pled not guilty to charges of first degree sexual misconduct and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.
Taylor and her husband arrived together about an hour before her arraignment with family members and a crew from Inside Edition close behind.
Taylor's family remained stoic throughout the arraignment. They declined to comment to reporters.
Taylor's lawyers entered a not guilty plea on her behalf.
Yakima County prosecutors don't consider Taylor a threat. That's why she wasn't in custody, and will remain that way.
They don't, however, want her in contact with anyone under the age of 18. While upholding that request, the judge did grant her permission to associate with her 5 1/2-year-old triplets.
Taylor has an omnibus hearing set for November 25 at 8:30 a.m.
Her jury trial is scheduled for December 21.
