In a four week period Kennewick police say a total of six mowers have been reported stolen in the area. They also say this is anything but normal, especially this time of year because people aren't often mowing their lawns. That's why tonight police suspect it's most likely a group of people selling parts or selling the machines at a cheaper price. Out of the missing six, four are riding lawnmowers that can run up to 5,000 dollars in price. And a word of warning so you don't fall victim to a similar crime, police tell us all six mowers were taken because they were sitting out and they were easy to snatch.
"If you have any type of equipment of any value whatsoever make sure that it's locked in a garage or shed of some kind so that it's not easy access. It looks like they are picking off the ones that are just out in the open," Kennewick police officer Shirrell Veitenheimer said.
