An announcement coming soon about Hanford Reach Center
The location of the Hanford Reach Interpretive Center could be announced in the next few months.
There hasn't been an official announcement yet, but those involved are exploring sites and have narrowed it down to about five different choices.
It's all part of the required permitting process to look at alternative sites other than Columbia Point South. The 61-thousand square foot building will have everything ranging from ice age flood exhibitions to information about the Manhattan project. The city of Richland supported the decision to put the center at Columbia Point South but Native American tribes urged more research into alternative areas.
