Health District will no longer waive food permit fees for non-profits

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Around 300 local non-profits will now have to pay for food permits when fundraising.

In an effort to make up for a budget shortfall the Yakima County Health District will no longer waive food permit fees for non-profit organizations. They estimate this will create a $10,000 subsidy for the Health District.

A food permit costs $54.
