Change your clocks and check your smoke alarms for Daylight Saving
All across the country home fires impact American families every 85 seconds. Here in Washington firefighters say two out of every three fire deaths happen in homes without working smoke detectors.
Firefighters say Daylight Saving Time is the perfect day to remind yourself to change the batteries in your smoke detectors.
"I think it's just an idea that was adopted because Daylight Saving Time happens twice a year and that's the best time to replace your battery. It's just a great way to remember it," Richland firefighter Keith Ramsay said.
Ramsay says when you turn your clock back tonight, check your smoke alarms as well.
