KENNEWICK, Wash. - A Richland High School graduate is dead after getting hit by a car in Seattle. Brittany Hollenbach was hit by a car early this morning and was taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious head injuries.

The incident happened at midnight when Hollenbach along with four others ran across a crosswalk. Hollenbach was hit when she ran into the path of a 1995 Honda Civic. The Seattle Fire Department responded to the scene and rushed her to the hospital. Investigators say the driver of the car had no signs of impairment or intoxication.

Hollenbach passed away this afternoon. Friends of Hollenbach say she had a heart of gold and was very active in college.  She attended the University of Washington and was a member of the Tri-Delta Sorority.  Tomorrow the sorority is hosting a vigil for Brittany at the University of Washington. They've posted a Facebook event and over 800 people are planning to attend.

Hollenbach was only 22 years old.
