Pasco, WA- Another twist could further delay a high profile murder trial in the Tri-Cities.
One of the public defenders representing Jose Garcia Morales is pulling out of the trial because of illness.
Carl Sonderman had been on the defense team for nearly a year. The judge in the case will appoint a new public defender.
The trial is currently on hold while state psychiatrists determine morales' competency. A hearing today to set a date for the competency hearing had to be delayed when a Spanish interpreter wasn't available to translate for the defendant.
Morales and his brother Ramon are accused of shooting a Pasco man and wounding his wife last December. Police arrested the brothers in Idaho a few days after the shootings.
