Suspects break into cemetery; steal vases

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- The Yakima County Sheriff's Office is looking for three people, suspected of stealing brass vases from a cemetery to turn into scrap metal.

Deputies say the suspects entered West Hills Memorial Park cemetery on Douglas Road on Nov. 5th. They say the suspects took 217 brass vases from headstone markers, amounting to a loss of approximately $106,500.

Police believe the suspects tried to destroy the vases and turn them in for scrap metal. Chicago Junk in Yakima say three people tried to turn in what were likely the destroyed vases.

They say three people arrived in a white, 1982 AMC Concorde with Washington license plate number :133-YOE. The suspects are described as two white males, one in his late 20's, about 6 feet tall, medium build with dark brown or black hair. The third is described as a White female in her late 20's, with brown hair (in a ponytail).
