No more seasonal flu vaccine in Yakima County

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA--If you haven't received your seasonal flu shot yet, it might be too late.

Employees at the Yakima County Health District say all supplies of the seasonal flu vaccine have been exhausted.

Normally, only about half of a county's population gets vaccinated.  Providers ordered vaccines based on that, well before the H1N1 virus outbreak.

Due to all the attention the flu's received this year, more people want the vaccine.

"Currently we do not know of any locations that have seasonal flu vaccine," Jessica Brown, Yakima Health District, said.  "About half of the places we called said they are done for the season, but the other half said they are hoping to receive some in the next couple weeks to a month."

Brown and the health district are tracking when and where the seasonal vaccine will be available.
