Local business owner diagnosed with cancer gets keeps his promise.
Last year Dave Parmeter didn't do any home decorating for Christmas, but told family and friends he would make up for it this year, not knowing a diagnosis of stage four cancer was on its way.
Today that promise was not forgotten. Instead those same friends and family members decided they would be the ones to help out a man they say has embraced faith every day and a new found courage they are trying to emulate.
About 75 people came out to decorate and to show their love and support for Dave. Several friends say today was another example of how many lives cancer truly touches, and how important it is to live in a community where so many offer a helping hand.
"You live in the Tri-Cities a long time, but one of the things you find out is the roots of people coming together is one of the best in the nation right here," family friend Claud Oliver said.
Dave is a member of the Pasco-Kennewick Rotary. He and his wife also own the Autobahn in Kennewick. If you're interested in helping Dave his friends and family say get a car wash or lube at Autobahn and keep the business going strong.
