Tri-Cities' governments balance budgets

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash.--  The counties and cities in the Tri-Cities are balancing their budgets.

15 employees in Franklin County will be laid off at the beginning of the year.

Pasco will eliminate three vacant positions, including two police officers. They also will have to take seven hundred thousand dollars from their reserve fund.

Richland won't have to make any cuts next year, as they don't rely as much on sales tax.

West Richland expects to stay consistent into next year.

Benton County and the city of Kennewick did not return our calls.
