H1N1 Update from BFHD

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- H1N1 doses aren't coming in as fast as the Health District has hoped.

They continue to receive only a few thousand doses each week, instead of the ten thousand doses they ask for, meaning doses have not yet been opened up to general healthy adult populations.

The District reports absenteeism in schools is right about normal for any given day, meaning for now the spread of the flu is leveling off. But pandemics have three waves of illness meaning it could return again.

If you are in the at risk populations, the Health District has posted six pharmacies on their web site where the vaccine is available, but call the pharmacy ahead of time to make sure they still have it and you fall into a population they are treating.
