KENNEWICK, Wash-- The final leg of construction to Fourth Avenue. Starting Thursday, crews will be paving Fourth from Edison to Union, smoothing out years of damaged road. "It didn't hold up to the amount of traffic and the growth that has taken place in this city as we grew. it has deteriorated over the years," says Peter Beaudry with the City of Kennewick. He says the multi-million dollar, six-month project will be worth the wait. "We're very excited that it's finally done. it's been a long time in the works."Right now the road looks more like a dirt path. The hope is in the coming days we'll be talking about the project like it was in the past; something neighbors tell me they're happy to do.
