National Adoption Day brings together families in the Tri-Cities
It was a special time at the Benton-Franklin Superior court today as about 20 children became a part of forever families for National Adoption Day.
There were a lot of smiles accompanied by some tears of joy throughout the court room as foster children were legally joined with their families. We followed one family today who has been waiting for this moment for years. They say it's been a long journey up to this point but after today a beautiful 3-year-old girl named Serenity will officially be part of their group.
"To me this is our family. I wouldn't have it any other way," Tom Pierce said.
The Pierce family along with the other families in court today celebrated the end of a long road traveled, but the joy on every child's face and the warmth shown by their parents was a reminder that it really is all worth it in the end.
