YAKIMA--A Yakima teen is recovering Sunday after being shot in the face.
Yakima police say an argument in the alley behind the 200 block of South Sixth Street at about 11:45 p.m. led to at least three gunshots.
The victim was in a house at the time. One witness told police one person shot at the house then ran off.
One bullet hit the teen in the jaw, but only before going through a couple walls.
"Fortunately there had been enough energy taken off of the bullet," Lt. Mike Merryman, Yakima Police Department, said. "it caused, although some concerning injuries, nothing life-threatening at all."
Police don't have any reason to think the shooting is gang-related. The victim is not believed to have any gang ties.
They did find some shell casings at the scene, but they don't have many leads. If you have any information, please call Yakima Police
