MOXEE--The father of Davis High School graduate Trevor Nettleton, killed in his Las Vegas home Thursday, heads to bury his son.
Trevor Nettleton graduated from Davis in 1997, then went on to the Marine Corps. He served overseas and also did a two-year stint at the White House.
He'd been a member of the Las Vegas Police Department since 2006. Thursday, Nettleton was shot and killed at his own home in an attempted robbery.
His father, Richard Nettleton, lives in Moxee. He left Central Washington early Sunday morning to bury his son, and shield his daughter-in-law from intense media pressure.
"They need to leave her alone down there," Richard Nettleton said. "They need to just give her space. She's mourning and she hasn't had a chance to do that yet."
Richard's been told roughly 6,000 people are expected to attend Trevor's Wednesday funeral.
Trevor leaves behind two young children, two-year-old Tanner and two-month-old Quinn, along with his wife Danielle.
