Americans trade hockey sticks for hammers

Kennewick,  WA-

Members of the Tri-Cities' professional hockey team took to the roof today.

The players volunteered to help Habitat for Humanity, which is building five homes in Kennewick near Badger Canyon.

Tri City Americans Captain Jarrett Toll  got nine teammates out of bed early on their day off to help shingle a roof.  "Procop, Reddick, Mestery, Owsley, Lazo, Mcintosh, Shinnimin, Smitty and Sutherland are all out here. So, pretty good crew."

Toll says he actually helped shingle rooftops as a kid.  As for other team players, they admit they're better with a hockey stick than a hammer.
