Union Gap Best Buy reaches sales goals for Black Friday
UNION GAP, Wash. -- Friday morning was the mad dash, as shoppers tried to get those Black Friday deals. Now, the Best Buy in Union Gap is reporting excellent numbers.
The general manager said the store did better than last year and hit all the projected numbers. There were 500 people waiting outside Best Buy when it opened Friday morning. Some had camped out since Wednesday, hoping to get their hands on a laptop deal.
"They're having fun. They like it, they do it because they choose to not because they have to, as you get later on in the day I think is when you get the crankiness, people been out shopping all day," said Monte Neumeyer, general manager, Best Buy.
Neumeyer said Best Buy stayed busy the whole day on Friday. The store's ad is for a two day sale so they expect to see plenty of people on Saturday as well.
As for the hot items, everything is selling from TVs, iPods, games and laptops.
