Adkison and Ettl to be sworn in Tuesday

YAKIMA, Wash. – Returning City Councilwoman Maureen Adkison and incoming Councilman Dave Ettl will be sworn into office Tuesday morning.

The KIT radio talk show host won the position five seat earlier this month, beating Sonia Rodriguez in the Nov. 3 election.  Rodriguez was appointed to the city council in late 2008 and was required to run for that seat at the next general election.  She replaced Norm Johnson after he moved to the state legislature.

Adkison currently serves on the council, she was appointed to replace Neil McClure after he resigned earlier this year.   She won her election bid earlier this month against former mayor Paul George.  Adkison was also required to run for her seat like Rodriguez.

Ettl and Adkison will be sworn in before the city council starts its special meeting on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. inside council chambers.
