PARKLAND, Wash. - The manhunt continues for 37 year old Maurice Clemmons who is suspected of shooting and killing four Lakewood Police Officers. Law enforcement officers have been assigned to watch trains and bus terminals while the State Patrol is monitoring the freeways in this massive hunt.
The suspect, Clemmons, has an extensive criminal history and got out of his 95 year prison sentence a decade ago in Arkansas. In Spokane today, the sister of one of the officers said now is the time things need to change. "One of the things I want our community to know, is that it starts with us. It starts with the community. We have to come together, we have to change the laws because without doing that, law enforcement can only do so much," said Tiffany Ryan, sister of victim.
Investigators say they don't know why Clemmons gunned down the officers but court documents say he is mentally unstable adding urgency to the man hunt.
