Man accused of killing four officers shot and killed by police
SEATTLE, Wash.- Law enforcement officers in Seattle confirm Maurice Clemmons, 37, was shot and killed in South Seattle around 2:40 a.m.
Clemmons is the man suspected of killing four Lakewood police officers in a coffee shop in Parkland Sunday.
Police say Clemmons was standing outside in the 4400 block of South Kenyon Street when he was confronted by officers. They say he refused to show his hands and tried to run away, then an officer shot him. Clemmons was found to be in possession of a gun registered to one of the officers who was killed Sunday.
Police say three other people have been arrested for aiding and abetting Clemmons. They also say this crime may have been planned and expect to make more arrests of people who may have known the crime was going to happen.
