With more H1N1 flu shots floating around many are left wondering when they'll be available to those outside of the high risk groups?
The Benton Franklin Health District says in a few weeks H1N1 shots will be available for everyone; however, currently vaccine doses are only offered to people in the high risk priority group: pregnant women, those between 6 months and 24 years and adults with underlying health conditions. The Health District says doses have trickled in slowly, but overall, more than 1 million have been shipped to the state of Washington, and over the past 6 weeks, 40-thousand have been given to our area.
The Health District says everyone will be able to get a shot by Christmas. Until then, the District will have a clinic open beginning Wednesday through Friday. you can call to schedule an appointment if you are in the high risk group.
