Retail stores are focusing their attention to the final weeks of holiday sales. With people waiting for those last minute sales and shopping opportunities it's no surprise stores are opening doors earlier with more bargains available.
Stores are expecting parking to be packed with people searching for those last minute gifts. Those such as J.C. Penney, Wal-Mart, Target, and Ranch and Home say it's an important time for business and they see people come in from Walla Wall, Yakima, Pendleton and Moses Lake for the good regional shopping opportunity's that the Tri-Cities offers.
"This is a very exciting time of year," J.C. Penney store manager Lee Boman said. "We basically work 11 months of the year getting ready for the next three weeks."
J.C. Penney alone is bringing in 60-thousand pieces of merchandise every week until Christmas. Columbia Center Mall and Target have extended hours on the weekends through the end of the holiday season, and stores such as Ranch and Home say they have had to bring in extra cash registers.
