Alternative Gift Fair Bittersweet this year

Posted: Updated:

The Alternative Gift Fair at the Community Unitarian Church in Pasco is a holiday market where people make donations in honor of family and friends.

The recent loss of Audrey Ulrich, who was a founder of the fair, has made this year bittersweet for those attending. Audrey's husband Mathew Ulrich says he'll continue where she left off. He's kicking off the fundraising to build a permanent dog park at Badger Mountain Park.

"This is another one of the projects my wife worked on when she passed away," Mathew Ulrich said. "She was involved with the development of the first Alternative Gift Fair in Tri-Cities and she was right in the middle of making this one happen when she passed away."

Tri-City Dog Parks sold memorial bricks at the fair today. Each one with an engravement went for $100.
