Fate of From the Heart Adult Family homes up in the air
PASCO, Wash. -- Friends and family members of residents living at From the Heart Adult Family homes met in Pasco to talk about a recent notice, which says the homes will be closing.
Family members received a letter from the owner of From the Heart Adult Family Homes. In the letter the licensed owner said the homes will be closing soon do to personal health issues. She adds it is with "heart felt sorrow" that she must make this decision and the last day of operation will be December 31st.
Saturday we talked with family members of residents who said they were shocked to get the letter because they're family members have enjoyed staying there and they've known it to be a well run adult home.
"You feel like the floor kind of dropped out from underneath, you know, it has the capability to be a wonderful facility. It has been run very well and it could have been handled so much differently," said Lori Randell, family member of resident.
We talked with the owner late Saturday she said that since the letter was sent out last week she's found other providers who are wanting to take over the homes so she expects the homes will actually be able to stay open.
She hopes a change in licensing ownership can be made as seamlessly as possible.
