Pasco, WASH - The cold temperatures are forcing local elementary school staff to make some tough decisions. The playground was empty today at Ruth Livingston Elementary in Pasco during normal recess time. School staff decided to have indoor recess due to temperatures in the teens and wind chills in the single digits. They say having the kids inside is much safer and protects them during cold and flu season. Many other schools throughout the Tri-Cities held indoor recess during the afternoon.
