YAKIMA, Wash. -- A man wearing a nylon over his head robbed the Tacos El Rey restaurant at gunpoint Thursday night.
Police say a Hispanic man entered the restaurant on South Sixth Street around 7:00 Thursday night. He told employees to put up their hands and witnesses say he was holding what looked like a short bbarreledriffle. After taking money the man fled on foot.
The owner said this is the first time in six years of business that the restaurant's been robbed.
"But, like two weeks ago somebody broke into the restaurant when it was closed...like in the morning," said Humberto Lopez, owner, Tacos El Rey.
No one was harmed during the robbery, but customers were in the restaurant. The suspect is described as an Hispanic male in his early to mid 20's, about 5'8'' tall, weighing around 150 pounds. Witnesses also say the suspect spoke perfect Spanish.
