KENNEWICK, Wash. - In business news, Christmas tree sales are better than expected. Tree lots across the area are saying sales are comparable if not better than last year. The Applegate Nursery lot in Kennewick has already sold more than 400 trees and is already on their third order for the season.
Brandon Lott is owner of the lot and says while many people are concerned about spending too much on a tree, their biggest concern is finding the perfect one. "I think a few things bring them out. Just the smell of a Christmas tree. There's nothing like the smell of a Christmas tree and a real tree is Christmas. It's tradition," said Lott.
Lott says this weekend and last weekend are generally the busiest for tree sales.
