Hermiston man dies after being hit by truck

HERMISTON, Ore. -- A man in a wheelchair dies after being hit by a truck. The accident happened Monday, Dec. 14th at around 5:30 pm at 11th St and Orchard Ave.

60-year-old Alfred Earl Davis of Hermiston died at the scene. Police say he was crossing the street in his motorized wheel chair when he was hit by a Ford F-450 pickup truck.

The truck was registered to Qualls Honey Houses of Hermiston and was driven by 60-year-old James Thomas Obrien of Pendleton.

Davis was crossing in a marked crosswalk.

Hermiston Police, Oregon State Police, and the Umatilla County District Attorney's office are still investigating the accident.
