Kennewick, WA- Between now and the end of the holidays, the Washington State Patrol says one person will die every day in a traffic crash.
Many of those wrecks will be caused by drunken drivers.
The WSP has already ramped up patrols to get those impaired drivers off the road, and the state patrol recommends you find a designated driver before heading to those holiday parties.
Sergeant Roger Wilbur also says be careful of those impromptu, after-work parties when you may over indulge. "Sometimes you get the drunk that's two blocks from the house. Sometimes you get them going 20 miles to the house. So whether you're going two blocks or 20 miles, in our opinion you're still a danger to anybody on the road and you're a danger to yourself behind the wheel."
The American Automobile Association says about 87 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more during the holiday season this year, up nearly four percent from last year.
