East Valley Fire Department holds potato feed for ill firefighter
MOXEE, Wash. -- Who doesn't love a warm baked potato? The cause will warm your heart as well, a community is coming together to help a volunteer firefighter.
East Valley fire is made up of career firefighters and volunteers, but regardless of the make-up firefighters say it's like family. When Firefighter Jacob Dosher fell ill with pneumonia he was hospitalized and needed surgery. Now his fellow firefighters are holding a potato feed to raise money for his medical expenses.
The popotato'sre ready and the fire department is hoping for a big turn-out.
"As many as we can get, if 500 show great, if a thousand show hopefully we got enough food," said Brent Nye, firefighter, East Valley Fire Department.
A spud will cost you six dollars. The fundraiser goes until 8:00 p.m. Friday night. The department is located at 2003 Beaudry Road in East Valley. Again all the proceeds go towards Jacob Dosher's medical bills.
Even if you're not hungry, you can still help out, there's also a silent auction.
