Shopping continues on day after Christmas

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA--Christmas may have come and gone, but the shopping goes on.

It doesn't seem to matter what type of product, there are lots of sales going on.

KNDO focused on one category you might think people have had enough of by now:  Christmas decorations.

It's still 364 days until Christmas 20-10, but at places like Yakima's Shopkeeper, all that means is it's time to get 2009's leftovers off the shelves.

That means big discounts for the savvy shopper, all the while avoiding the craziness easily found at larger chain stores.

"I'm shopping here because they have good deals, 40 - 50 percent off," Linda Johnston said.  "And, I love Christmas items."

"It's always fun to look forward to the next holiday and get some good buys at the same time," Cherie Young said.  "I don't go like to the malls, but it's fun to go to specialty stores like this."

The shopkeeper offering 40 to 50 percent off on most Christmas decorations until the new year.

For them, Christmas season still has a few weeks to go.

During the first week of January the store's owner will go buy holiday supplies and gifts to stock the shelves next winter.
