Touchet superintendent speaks about missing payments
TOUCHET, Wash.-- Teachers in the Touchet School District still have not been paid for this month. They were supposed to be paid on the 18th. This is an update to a story we brought you last week.
Several teachers called us questioning why they weren't paid on their last working day of the month. This caused some teachers to have to change holiday plans and even return gifts.
They've been clamoring to hear from their superintendent, Dan McDonald. Today we spoke with McDonald, who says there was a glitch in the system and now they're addressing the problem but it still won't be resolved because money needs to be held in a depository.
McDonald is hoping to have teachers and staff be paid on the 30th, nearly two weeks after their contract outlines.
He says any accusations this glitch was done intentionally to show his power is false and misleading.
