"Dump Hunger" food drive campaign

Posted: Updated:

The Tri-Cities Food Bank is teaming up with the Western States Equipment Company for their second annual post-holiday food drive.

The campaign called "Dump Hunger" is a six week food drive that focuses on gathering 150,000 pounds of food or two CAT 730-truckloads to help feed the hungry.

Western States will also match one dollar for every five pounds of food collected up to a $17,000 donation.

Tim Lawrence, the organizer of Dump Hunger says, "that's the payback; giving to the community. It's not just the community, but the people that really need the help. I mean the food banks, they are feeding double the people they were feeding last year. It's really needed."

You can donate to the Dump Hunger campaign at Yokes in Pasco at anytime next month. They will have a big truck there Jan. 9th. They will have a one day drive at the Safeway in Richland on January 16th, from 10-3 and at the Kennewick Fred Meyer on Jan. 23rd also from 10-3.
