Kennewick, WA- Fitting, on a foggy morning, the Port of Kennewick today worked on the new lighthouse on Clover Island.
A crane hoisted the platform into place. Next week workers will install the dome of what will become an actual working lighthouse.
"It's registered as an aid of navigation by the Coast Guard," says Director of Operations Dan Cryer. "It'll have a flashing beacon that's solar powered that will flash at night."
A Spokane architect designed the lighthouse, which is being paid for with port money and city grants.
